Kathy Williams-Tolstrup, MEd, LPC, EMDR II, CDWF
Kathy is a psychotherapist who is in private practice in Fort Collins, CO. She provides a safe and caring environment where you can begin the transformative journey of uncovering core issues and limiting beliefs that are the obstacles to emotional health and well-being. Her style can best be described as non-judgmental, compassionate, and collaborative.
Trained in contemplative practice for over 25 years, Kathy offers a blend of the best practices of Western psychology and the mindfulness-based approaches of the East. Kathy is trained in EMDR, an integrative psychotherapy approach proven effective for the treatment of trauma. She is also an IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapist. The IFS model of psychotherapy offers a clear, non-pathologizing, and empowering method of understanding human problems, as well as an innovative and enriching philosophy of practice that invites both therapist and client to enter into a transformational relationship in which healing can occur.
Kathy has attended several trainings with Dr. Brené Brown and is a Certified Facilitator of the Daring Way™, based on Dr. Brown's groundbreaking work on vulnerability, courage, worthiness and shame.
